Select service and equipment providers 

  • If you haven't alreadyadd service and medical equipment needs to a case to look up providers to meet those needs.
  • The initial results for a provider search include all providers that qualify for the needs you searched on. Filter the results (next) to narrow them down.

Search results are sorted by classification: Pennant flag with star In Mass General Brigham system first, followed by Solid flag Member Mass General Brigham Collaborative, then Outlined flag Hospice Consortium, and then all others. Within the classifications, providers are sorted alphanumerically by name.

Long lists are divided into pages. The page navigator includes a drop-down list of items per page drop down arrow, the current page number, the total number of pages, and the previous drop down arrow and next drop down arrow page buttons.

  • To change the number of items per page, click to select from the Items per page drop-down list (bottom right). 

  • To display the next page, click Right-arrow button. To display the previous page, click Left-arrow button. (Scroll up a bit if the page navigation buttons are covered by another button.)

  • location, payer, and classification filters are added to the search criteria as you select them. To add more than one of any filter, repeat the process with a different selection. To remove a filter, click its green X.
  • To limit the list to by classification or payer, click to select an option from the drop-down lists beneath the search criteria.
  • To limit the results to providers located in a US state or territory:
  1. Click to display the Location drop-down list, beneath the search criteria.
  2. Move the mouse pointer over the State option. States are listed alphabetically, followed by US territories.
  3. Click to select a state or territory from the scrolling list
  • To limit the results to providers within a defined radius of a particular location: 
  1.  Click to display the Location drop-down list, beneath the search criteria.
  2. Click the Location option. The Find a Location popup displays.
  3. Type a 5-digit zip code or the name of a city and its 2-letter postal abbreviation for the central location.
  4.  By default, the distance from the central location is set to 5 miles in any direction. To change the distance, click slider handle and drag it on the Radius line, right to increase and left to decrease, by 5 miles on the scale of 5 to 100 miles.
  5. Click ok.
  • Filter icon Filters for languagesservices, referral method, and cms rating are available on the left. If you have your  Favorites showing, click FIlter icon Search to display the filters.
  • To filter by languages, service, or referral method:
  1. Click the heading to display the list of options for languagesservices, or referral method.
  2. Click to check the box checkbox clear for each item needed. Once the filter is applied:
  • The checkbox changes to checkbox yellow checked. To remove a filter, click to uncheck its box.
  • Only providers that match are listed.
  • The languagesservices, and referral method Filters are updated to include only those options that are relevant to the providers that remain in the search results. Options that don't apply to the providers on the list are not available.
  • To show only providers with a CMS rating at or above a certain score, click slider handle and drag it on the cms rating line, right to increase and left to decrease, by half a point on the scale of 0 to 5.

Selecting providers

You can select one or more providers for referrals from both: 

  • Filter icon Search results based on the needs you added.
  • Your  Favorites.
  • To display providers based on the needs you added, click Search Filter icon Search.

  • Click checkbox clear provider name or checkbox clear Select all on page to select the provider(s) you want. You can select from more than one page of results. Click  Favorites to select from your list.

    The Selected providers count is the number that are checked checkbox clear and will be added to the case (although if there are unverified providers selected, those won't be added).

  • Providers you already added to the case are checked Favorite provider checked and can't be selected again. 
  • Favorites you already selected are checked Favorite provider checked.

  • To select more than one provider, click to check checkbox clear Select all on page.

  • You can click Right-arrow button to display another page, and select one, some, or all providers on more than one page.
  • The number of providers selected are those that will be included when you save as a draft or send the referrals, as described below. They can be checked off checkbox checked in your favorites and/or on one or more pages of the search results.
  • Favorite provider checked Providers you already added to the case are not included in the count of providers selected.
  • When printing or sharing via email, all currently selected and previously added providers are included.

  1. Click checkbox clear provider name or checkbox clear Select all on page to select the provider(s) you want. You can select from more than one page of results. Click  Favorites to select from your list.

  2. Click save draft. Management for the case displays, with each of the selected providers added as Draft referral status Draft referrals.

Sending one or more referrals at one time

  1. Click checkbox clear provider name or checkbox clear Select all on page to select the provider(s) you want. You can select from more than one page of results. Click  Favorites to select from your list.

  2. Click send referral.
  3. All of the providers you checked off checkbox checked are listed.
  • A provider is flagged referral flagged if their referral method is unverified. Their checkbox is inactivated checkbox inactivated so 4Next won't try to send them a referral.  
  • To keep from sending a referral to any one on the list, click to uncheck checkbox clear the box for a provider.
  1. Click next.
  2. If the providers are all for the same need, a pre-written message if included. Type to add or change the message as appropriate.
  3. To flag the message as requiring immediate action, click Priority switch off to turn the Priority switch on: Priority switch on.

  4. Click next.
  5. By default, the Facesheet and Referral Summary are the documents selected to share.

  • Click and drag a document from available to shared or vice versa to add or remove documents to share.
  • Click move all to SHARED to share all available documents.
  • For obstetric mother/baby couplets who are going to have a one-time nursing visit at home, include the EMD Form; remove the EMD Form for other types of discharges.
  • Click move all to AVAILABLE to clear the shared documents list.
  1. To include attachments, click toggle off Share Attachments. To remove attachments, click toggle on Share Attachments.

  2. Click send.

The Manage view for the case displays each of the selected providers as  Sent icon Sent. The message you sent is added to the Messages icon messages list, and the Documents icon documents section is updated for each selected provider. The Communicate message list is also updated.
