Setting Up EOV Duplicate Order Alerts

The following steps allow you to turn on EOV duplicate alerts as well as define how they work for your practice. If turned on, duplicate alerts display during the validation process for the encounter.

Note: Alerts are for orders only, not procedures, E&M, Modifiers, etc

Defining Lab Panels (for Duplicate Order Alerts)

Complete these steps to allow EOV to detect duplicate orders when lab panels are ordered. These steps are optional. However, if not completed, EOV cannot detect when ordering individual lab orders would result in duplicating labs that were previously ordered as part of a panel. These steps can be completed by either the lab or your LMR support analyst. For detailed steps, click here.

Turning On Duplicate Order Alerts

Complete these steps to enable alerts for duplicate lab orders when validating encounters. Unless completed, duplicate alerts do not display. You can also determine the time frame used to define duplicate orders. These steps can be completed by either the lab or your LMR support analyst. For detailed steps, click here.

Enable Option to Cancel Duplicate Orders from the Same Subset

By default, the duplicate order alert prevents you from cancelling orders from other users. However, if desired, an option can be set to allow you to cancel such orders from others within the same subset location. (You cannot cancel orders from users from a different subset.) To enable this option, contact your LMR support analyst.
